TED BAKER Pout and Prejudice 3 Lipstick Set

Its that time of year again ! Boots have the Christmas Gifts sets back on the shelf's.
Now I am sure you all know by now that I do love myself a good bargain. I always take a little look at the Christmas gift sets as you always seem to get a bit more for your money, Or even better a limited edition set. There is nothing wrong with buying yourself a little present (well I tell myself that anyway)

This little set comes in a gorgeous metal tin. The lid has a lovely vintage design with cute houses in gorgeous pastel colours, So cute! The tin is perfect for keeping your lipsticks in or storing anything you like in there . Its a great size so perfect to pop in your bag when your on the go.

So here are the three shades we have Nude, Peach and Red. They are a lovely little Treo and although are quite similar shades they all look very different on, I also love the design of the lipsticks themselves. The Classic Ted Baker baby pink teamed with rose gold is definitely a winner for me!
All the lipsticks have the same texture which is very moisterising and creamy. They are a delight to put on as they feel so soft and nourishing.

So the first of out three shades is Nude. I love this shade, It gives a beautiful subtle shine. This will definitely compliment any outfit or eye makeup. It really is the perfect shade of nude. Its not too light which can sometimes give the "foundation lips" look. And it's not to dark so it will suit every skin type.
Moving on to the second shade we have Peach. Its a beautiful pinky tone. This vibrant pink will really compliment all makeup. If your looking to add a girly touch to your outfit or makeup, Peach is a great shade to reach for.
Last but not least we have shade Red. Now this has to be one of my favourite red lipsticks. The pigments in this red are just perfect. Its a lovely creamy red which is very vivid but at the same time very subtle. Its a very pinky red so gives a lovely girly finish. Some red lipsticks you can spend forever perfecting as you have to get it just right, However this Red applies very easily and quickly.

These are great to keep in your bag on the go or gorgeous to keep for special occasions. You can use your Nude lipstick during the day and glamorise your look with the gorgeous Red in the evening for a whole new style. If you would like to purchase this set please visit Boots. At only £15 this makes each lipstick only £5!  The quality is amazing for this price. I may even buy myself one more set as I know these shades will be dearly missed when they run out!

Whats your favourite shade from this gorgeous Treo ?

Revlon Black Cherry (Mac Dark Side Dupe)

Recently I have decided to become a little more adventurous with some of my makeup choices. For years I have stuck to different shades of pink as I know with a simple pink lipstick you just cant go wrong.

I started noticing a few people were starting to wear dark burgundy shades of lipsticks. I then noticed this colour was starting to get more and more popular and being used in magazines and requested to me for photoshoots. So it only took me a matter of days to do a little research and get my hands on some.

Revlon Black Cherry has to be my absolute favorite shade at the moment. If your anything like me and love a great bargain then this is the perfect winter shade for you.

The most used burgundy lipstick around at the moment is MAC Dark Side which i'm sure everyone knows about. I personally don't like to pay over £10 for a lipstick so wanted a cheaper alternative and the Revlon Black Cherry is almost Identical! The only difference I would say is the Revlon Lipstick maybe half a shade more berry like rather than browny. I'm Sure you could apply a lipstick to each lip and no one would notice the difference.   Also an added bonus with the Revlon Lipstick not only is it cheaper but you also get more product !

The photos I have took makes the lipstick look a little Gothic and scary ! When applied the shade of the lipstick has a lovely purpley red tone to it. It couldn't be a more perfect winter shade. The warm tone looks gorgeous teamed with burgundy and black clothes and accessories. This lipstick is also the perfect shade for Red Heads. I always wear this shade with my dip dyed red hair extensions.

The Photo below I have took with the flash on my camera. As you can see in the photo this shows the colour of the lipstick a little more. You can see the berry burgundy shade a lot better. When applied the lipstick still doesnt come out as dark as the photo below. The lipstick itself has a much more feminine purpley pinky reddish tone. I personally like to apply the lipstick in one application and using my finger smudge the lipstick in. This gives a very soft ombre lip effect. For a darker and more even application I would apply 2 coats.

The Photo Below is from a recent shoot. I used the Revlon Black Cherry and it honestly looked great. The model loved the shade so much herself she has also now bought it for personal use ! I couldn't recommend this shade more. You can wear it lightly and feminine for a gorgeous day look or apply theavy for a fierce unique party look.

You can buy this lipstick at Boots for just £7.49 !
I know I keep saying this but this really is the perfect shade for the winter season.
If you want to stand out at the Christmas party's this year then what are you waiting for !

Have you fallen in love with some dark winter shades?
Thanks so much for reading !

Vaseline Limited Edition Paint The Town Red Lip Tint Review

On a recent trip to Selfridges I came across this new Paint The Town red lip tint made by Vaseline.
Paint The Town is the latest in Vaseline's Limited edition range. This is the third Limited edition tint that Vaseline have brought out the first being Creme Brulee and the second being Pink Bubbly
I love the design on the the lid of the lip tint.
I think its a great idea that the red paint is dripping down the lid to form the silhouette of a city skyline.
This is such a creative idea and also looks so pretty.

The colour of the tint in the tin looks a very deep dark red. However the lip tint gives a very light pinky tone to the lips. It is very subtle and only a few shades darker than your natural lip colour. It is noticeable that you have something on your lips but I wouldn't say that I would wear it for a night out on its own. This would be great teamed with a red lipstick for an extra added red glossy look for a more glamorous effect rather than just on its own.
I would recommend this if you feel lipsticks don't suit you or you don't want to try them, but want a little extra something on a night out.

The lovely tint has a gorgeous spiced berry flavour which smells amazing especially for the winter months.
This limited edition lip tint is currently only available at Selfridges for £3.49. The tint will be sold in boots stores towards the end of September.
I think this is a great purchase and would recommend this to anyone. Its great teamed with red lipstick for a more glossy softer look and great on its own for a sweet subtle pinky shine.
As the tint is limited edition there is a limited supply so snap one up while you have the chance !

Thanks for reading.

Starting Off: Skincare

Everyone will have their very own skincare routine. When your first starting to experiment with skincare products it can be a bit scary as there is soooo many different brands, items, textures, smells  and so much more to take into consideration.

The main items to include within a skincare routine I think (as everyone is different) are
  • Cleanser
  • Exfoliator
  • Toner
  • Moisturiser
Another great thing to use is Makeup wipes ! They are so quick and easy to remove make up but I warn you now are so so so drying for your skin !

What Does It Do ?
  • Cleanser  : Cleans away dirt, oils and removes makeup leaving your face feeling fresh and clean.
  • Exfoliator : Removes dry dead skin, impurities and grease . Helps to unblock pores and can also improve the pigmentation of the skin
  • Toner : Takes away any left over makeup and dirt after cleansing. Prepares the skin for moisturiser. Some Toners can even minimize pore size !
  • Moisturiser :   Moisturises the skin to keep it soft and dewy. Stops the skin from drying out and is also a great base for when applying makeup.

How Do I Use It ?

  • Cleanser :
You should always look at the directions given with the cleanser you buy as some can be slightly different. I am going to base mine on Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.
You apply one pump of product into your hand and apply all over face.
Then using the cloth that comes with the cleanser run under warm water.
Then wipe of all cleanser on the face.
Its as simple as that !

  • Exfoliator
Again make sure you read the directions that come with the product !
you should only use this once a week as if you over exfoliate your face can become red and sore.
Apply a small amount to hand and then place on your troublesome areas for dry skin and blocked pores.
This would usually be Forehead,Nose,Cheeks and Chin .
Try not to get this product near your eyes
Rub the product into your skin gently with small circular motions.
If you find that it hurts you are doing it to hard !
Then wash of with warm water

  • Toner
To tone you should apply a small amount to a cotton wool pad and then apply all over the face.
Again be careful around the  eyes.
Never apply too much to the cotton wool pad you don't want to waste any product. If you feel you need to add more to the cotton pad that's fine but you cant take it away !

  • Moisturiser
Just apply either from the pot or tube into your hands and straight on to the face.
Again apply a little at a time as you don't want to waste any product.

What do you recommend ?

There are so many different types of skincare products. You can buy a skin care range that is perfect for you and your skin needs. The main skin types are Dry, Oily, Combination and sensitive so look out for the products that suit your skin type best.

I have very bad dry/sensitive skin so all my skin care products are Liz Earle
Liz Earl is quite expensive when your young but its a great idea to ask for these products for Christmas and birthday presents. They last along time so you don't need to replace them very often

once you find something that suits your skin you should stick to it. You will have to keep trying products until you find the perfect one for you.

Here are some cleansers I have tried out
                   Liz Earle £ 14.75                        Soap & Glory £8.00                   Boots Essentials £1.50

Here are some toners I have tried out
Simple Facial Toner £2.99              Liz Earle Skin Tonic £13.25

Please click the links under each picture if you would like to buy any products

What Is The Best Vanilla Body Spray ?

If your anything like me you will love love love all things vanilla. I have been trying all different types of vanilla body sprays and would say these 3 have been the best that I have come across so far. I thought I would compare the 3 body sprays and see what one comes out on top!

....................................................................................................................

First we have Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray. This body spray definitely wins best value for money at only £2.00 for 150 ml. I have always purchased this body spray ever since I was a young girl. I'm sure this was pretty much one of my first ever beauty products I ever purchased when I was first allowed to go shopping with friends.
The packaging is fairly simple with a plastic bottle and basic labeling
The smell is very fresh and light. Its not too sweet but you can still smell the Vanilla. I feel that you do have to apply quite a few sprays in order for the smell to be noticed and to linger throughout the day. I would recommend keeping the product in your bag and reapplying every so often if you want others to notice the scent.
This is definitely more of a daytime body spray to use opposed to going for a night out.
Its also great stocking filler and great to add to little prezzies for friends.

...............................................................................................................................

Second we have Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace Fragrance Mist. I purchased this at the Airport as I forgot to pack any perfume. There were so many to choose from but I decided to go with the Vanilla Lace.
The Packaging comes in a plastic bottle but with pretty labeling. I like that the bottle has a background picture and have not seen this with in a body spray before.
This product smells absolutely amazing ! The Vanilla really stands out with in the scent. It has a smooth rich smell making you smell like fresh vanilla cupcakes that have just come out the oven ! If your not into sweet sugary smelling products I wouldn't recommend this for you. The scent has a musk added to tone down the sweetness otherwise i'm sure you would smell like you just poured vanilla essence over your body !

I have received many compliments while wearing this product as the smell lingers all day. I wear this body spray for all occasions during the day and on a night out.

When I bought this product it cost me £8 but I did buy this at the airport so it was duty free. Victoria secret unfortunately do not have a UK website but do have a store located within Bond Street in London. I think the Body Sprays retail around £12 but then add deals if you buy 3 or more. This is quite pricey but you do receive 250 ml so they do last quite along time.

Smell 5/5
Durability 4/5

................................................................................................................

Third we have The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist. I bought this as a friend of mine was wearing it and I could smell the scent. I soon asked were it was from and bought some myself.

The scent is another sweet vanilla smell rather than a fresh kind. Although it is not the sweetest I have smelled. I thought the scent would linger for a long time and smell strong throughout the day but it does ware off quite quickly. When I wear this I do keep it in my bag and top up throughout the day.

I like that the body mist comes in a glass bottle so it does look more like a perfume.

The product costs £7.50 which is quite pricey considering you only get 100 ml per bottle which is the smallest amount of the 3.

I would personally wear this throughout the day as the scent isn't very strong so I don't feel it would last throughout the night.

I feel you pay more for the glass bottle than the product itself. But I do still love the smell.

.........................................................................................................................

So the winner is Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace !
The smell lingers the most within the 3 scents and all though it is the most expensive of the 3 you do get the most product. I personally prefer the sweeter Vanilla Scents and this is definitely the sweetest out of the 3. I also love the pretty packaging that comes with the bottle and the design, But the smell has definitely won me over ! Although it is annoying that you cant purchase from the online store I have found the product on Amazon and Ebay but just make sure it is genuine product !

Is there any vanilla body sprays that you like ?
Have you tried any of these ?

Thank you for reading !
