KIKO Eye Base Primer Review

Everyday beauty companies seem to be bringing out new primers, creams, gels etc. I'm slowly but surely catching up with completing my skin prepping products. As you all know this can become very expensive so here I have found an amazing priced eye primer.
For only £6.90 you can get Kiko's Eye Base Primer. I think this is a great price as some eye primers cost over £20 ! So when I saw this I just had to give it a try.

The primer is a good size at 10ml. You only have to use a very small amount at a time, so I can see this product lasting me a long time.

The design and packaging looks very sleek and professional. With a little nozzle applicator its perfect to get out the exact amount you need.  Also I like that without a wand applicator you don't have to worry as much about spreading and collecting germs. The lid also screws on so do need to worry about the lid falling of in your makeup bag and leaking ! ( Don't you hate it when that happens )

The primer is a mattifying mouse like texture. Its lovely and fluffy and applies perfectly. Its very easy to blend across the eyelid leaving a smooth and concealed finish. As you can see in the image the primer is a nude colour. This creates a lovely nude base on the eye lid removing any redness or imperfections you do not want to see. You could even use this on its own for a lovely natural look. The primer works like magic and adapts to your own skin colour so you don't need to worry if the shade will not suit you.

The primer compliments all eye shadows making them look there best and helps eye shadows to last longer without creasing. As it leaves the eyes so smooth it makes blending eye shadows a dream.
I will definitely be repurchasing this product.

It really is a great quality product for the price and a great alternative to all the expensive eye primers.

MAC Eye-Shadow Duo

At the moment this is my absolute favourite makeup product. I bought this eye-shadow duo at Bicester Village in Oxford. I just liked the colours compared to the others that were available and wanted to purchase my first ever MAC eye-shadow. I have to say I am very pleased that I did pick this duo as I didn't realise how much I was actually going to love and use it ! I now understand why everyone says how great MAC eye-shadows really are. You get lovely strong bold colour without all the crumbly lose powder that falls and smudges. And the colours blend so easily with a beautiful professional finish.

So lets start with the gorgeous colour Radial Pink. The Radial Pink is a very light shade of white with a soft pink hint and a beautiful shimmery finish. This is a great colour to run across the eyelids leaving your eyes looking bigger and fresh. I never usually wear pinks for eye-shadows as I feel they can make your eyes look sore and irritated. However this shade is so light and frosty there is no chance of that happening. You really could pair this eye-shadow with any colour you wanted and the quality lets you blend the with such ease.

Next we have Shadowy Lady. This is a MAC classic. Im sure most MAC lovers will have this colour so you will all know how amazing it is. Shadowy Lady is a smokey blackened plum colour. I have noticed in other reviews people have found this shade hard to blend. I honestly haven't had this problem and the shadow has always blended nicely for me giving a gorgeous smokey effect. This colour is great to work into the socket giving a smokey contouring effect. Shadowy Lady has a stunning matte finish so works so well with the shimmery Radial Pink. This is also perfect to run along the lash line using an angled brush for a soft liner look.

I have to admit at the moment I use this everyday! I just love how the colours blend together so well. It does help that I have green eyes so these two colours really help to enhance and bring out the green however I would still recommend this duo for any eye colour. You can play with the intensity of the colours and use the Radial Pink for a softer day time look. Then come night you can add more Shadowy Lady for a sexy smokey look.

Hope you enjoyed this review :D
Whats your favourtie MAC duo ?

Revlon Black Cherry (Mac Dark Side Dupe)

Recently I have decided to become a little more adventurous with some of my makeup choices. For years I have stuck to different shades of pink as I know with a simple pink lipstick you just cant go wrong.

I started noticing a few people were starting to wear dark burgundy shades of lipsticks. I then noticed this colour was starting to get more and more popular and being used in magazines and requested to me for photoshoots. So it only took me a matter of days to do a little research and get my hands on some.

Revlon Black Cherry has to be my absolute favorite shade at the moment. If your anything like me and love a great bargain then this is the perfect winter shade for you.

The most used burgundy lipstick around at the moment is MAC Dark Side which i'm sure everyone knows about. I personally don't like to pay over £10 for a lipstick so wanted a cheaper alternative and the Revlon Black Cherry is almost Identical! The only difference I would say is the Revlon Lipstick maybe half a shade more berry like rather than browny. I'm Sure you could apply a lipstick to each lip and no one would notice the difference.   Also an added bonus with the Revlon Lipstick not only is it cheaper but you also get more product !

The photos I have took makes the lipstick look a little Gothic and scary ! When applied the shade of the lipstick has a lovely purpley red tone to it. It couldn't be a more perfect winter shade. The warm tone looks gorgeous teamed with burgundy and black clothes and accessories. This lipstick is also the perfect shade for Red Heads. I always wear this shade with my dip dyed red hair extensions.

The Photo below I have took with the flash on my camera. As you can see in the photo this shows the colour of the lipstick a little more. You can see the berry burgundy shade a lot better. When applied the lipstick still doesnt come out as dark as the photo below. The lipstick itself has a much more feminine purpley pinky reddish tone. I personally like to apply the lipstick in one application and using my finger smudge the lipstick in. This gives a very soft ombre lip effect. For a darker and more even application I would apply 2 coats.

The Photo Below is from a recent shoot. I used the Revlon Black Cherry and it honestly looked great. The model loved the shade so much herself she has also now bought it for personal use ! I couldn't recommend this shade more. You can wear it lightly and feminine for a gorgeous day look or apply theavy for a fierce unique party look.

You can buy this lipstick at Boots for just £7.49 !
I know I keep saying this but this really is the perfect shade for the winter season.
If you want to stand out at the Christmas party's this year then what are you waiting for !

Have you fallen in love with some dark winter shades?
Thanks so much for reading !

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain

So I have been looking at a lot of blogs at the moment and noticed that orange lipsticks seem to be a must have at the moment !

I have always wanted a orange lipstick but have never felt brave enough to try one out. Now being a makeup artist I have tried out many different products and colours  and thought it was time to try out a orange lipstick. Especially as it is so on trend at the moment.

I was going to buy a Revlon Lip Butter but decided to go with the Just Bitten range instead. I don't really know why I decided to go with the Just Bitten range it just seemed to appeal to me more.

The Just Bitten range comes in a retractable crayon which I just love.

I decided to go with colour Rendezvous. It is a lovely orange colour with a subtle coral tone. Most of the orange colours I tried out have had a red tone and look more red than orange so I was so pleased when I come across this colour.

Now I know I keep stating that the Revlon Just Bitten is a lipstick but it is actually a Lip Balm Stain. However the colour does apply like a lipstick with a bonus of keeping your lips lovely and soft with the balm.
The colour is very long lasting and I did recently wear the Revlon Just Bitten to an all day wedding. I only had to reapply twice throughout the day which is amazing as I was there from 1pm to around 10pm.

So this is what the product looks like on.

 1 Layer
Built coverage with 3 Layers

The colour is also build-able so you can apply lightly for a nice soft shade or layer up for a more vibrant orange color.

I am surprised how moistersing the product is as lip stains are usually quite drying. However I do not find the lip stain drying at all.

I bought Lip Stain from boots recently. Luckily there was an offer to buy 2 products for £10 across all Revlon Products !
Its a great idea to look out for offers in the beauty stores.
The Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain is usually £7.99 but I do think its worth the money.
You get a lot of product too so this should last you a long time.

Have you tried any of the Revlon Just Bitten Lip stains ? Whats your favourite shade ?

What Is The Best Vanilla Body Spray ?

If your anything like me you will love love love all things vanilla. I have been trying all different types of vanilla body sprays and would say these 3 have been the best that I have come across so far. I thought I would compare the 3 body sprays and see what one comes out on top!

....................................................................................................................

First we have Boots Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray. This body spray definitely wins best value for money at only £2.00 for 150 ml. I have always purchased this body spray ever since I was a young girl. I'm sure this was pretty much one of my first ever beauty products I ever purchased when I was first allowed to go shopping with friends.
The packaging is fairly simple with a plastic bottle and basic labeling
The smell is very fresh and light. Its not too sweet but you can still smell the Vanilla. I feel that you do have to apply quite a few sprays in order for the smell to be noticed and to linger throughout the day. I would recommend keeping the product in your bag and reapplying every so often if you want others to notice the scent.
This is definitely more of a daytime body spray to use opposed to going for a night out.
Its also great stocking filler and great to add to little prezzies for friends.

...............................................................................................................................

Second we have Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace Fragrance Mist. I purchased this at the Airport as I forgot to pack any perfume. There were so many to choose from but I decided to go with the Vanilla Lace.
The Packaging comes in a plastic bottle but with pretty labeling. I like that the bottle has a background picture and have not seen this with in a body spray before.
This product smells absolutely amazing ! The Vanilla really stands out with in the scent. It has a smooth rich smell making you smell like fresh vanilla cupcakes that have just come out the oven ! If your not into sweet sugary smelling products I wouldn't recommend this for you. The scent has a musk added to tone down the sweetness otherwise i'm sure you would smell like you just poured vanilla essence over your body !

I have received many compliments while wearing this product as the smell lingers all day. I wear this body spray for all occasions during the day and on a night out.

When I bought this product it cost me £8 but I did buy this at the airport so it was duty free. Victoria secret unfortunately do not have a UK website but do have a store located within Bond Street in London. I think the Body Sprays retail around £12 but then add deals if you buy 3 or more. This is quite pricey but you do receive 250 ml so they do last quite along time.

Smell 5/5
Durability 4/5

................................................................................................................

Third we have The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist. I bought this as a friend of mine was wearing it and I could smell the scent. I soon asked were it was from and bought some myself.

The scent is another sweet vanilla smell rather than a fresh kind. Although it is not the sweetest I have smelled. I thought the scent would linger for a long time and smell strong throughout the day but it does ware off quite quickly. When I wear this I do keep it in my bag and top up throughout the day.

I like that the body mist comes in a glass bottle so it does look more like a perfume.

The product costs £7.50 which is quite pricey considering you only get 100 ml per bottle which is the smallest amount of the 3.

I would personally wear this throughout the day as the scent isn't very strong so I don't feel it would last throughout the night.

I feel you pay more for the glass bottle than the product itself. But I do still love the smell.

.........................................................................................................................

So the winner is Victoria Secret Vanilla Lace !
The smell lingers the most within the 3 scents and all though it is the most expensive of the 3 you do get the most product. I personally prefer the sweeter Vanilla Scents and this is definitely the sweetest out of the 3. I also love the pretty packaging that comes with the bottle and the design, But the smell has definitely won me over ! Although it is annoying that you cant purchase from the online store I have found the product on Amazon and Ebay but just make sure it is genuine product !

Is there any vanilla body sprays that you like ?
Have you tried any of these ?

MAC Fusion Pink Lipstick

I decided to get a light pink lipstick for the summer. This MAC lipstick in Satin Fusion Pink is the perfect colour for me. The colour goes on really well and lasts for hours as all MAC products do.
I think this lipstick would also look great teamed with a gloss on top for added shine.
As this is a satin finish lipstick i find that it can be a little drying. I apply a small amount of lip balm before applying this lipstick to stop my lips from drying out.
It is quite expensive at £15.00 but that's how much you pay for a MAC lipstick !

In the pictures i have added the lipstick itself looks a lot darker than it is. Below is a picture of how the colour looks on my lips. So you can see it is lighter on my lips.

This is a very subtle shade but can easily be built up for a more vibrant look to stand out. This colour is also really easy to mix with darker pinks and vibrant reds to tone them down slightly . I really do think this is the perfect summer shade and has so far complimented all my makeup and outfit choices.

I will definitely repurchase this when i run out as i love this shade. But i will look out for other brands with the same colour for a cheaper alternative.

Whats your favorite MAC Lipstick shade ? Do you like to use the satin finish ?

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I am in love with lush products and always ask for the lush gift sets for birthdays and Christmas. In a recent gift box that a friend got me for my birthday was the lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. The Lip scrubs are available in 3 different flavors Bubblegum, Popcorn and Mint Julips. Personally my favorite is the Bubblegum flavour. With each pot you get 25g of product. This may seem a small amount but they usually last up to a good 3 months ! I also think the price is quite reasonable at £5.25 but i didn't pay for mine individually as i received it in the gift box.

The Lip Scrubs are made from castor sugar (great for exfoliating and adds the nice taste) and jojoba oil (very moisterising)  with a little added flavoring to make them taste amazing. To apply the scrub apply a small amount to your finger. Don't use to much at a time as you don't want to over exfoliate the lips. In gentle circular motions rub your lips with the scrub. Keep going until you feel your lips are smooth and dry skin free. Now for the best part ! You can either wipe away the excess scrub left over or simply lick it away. I prefer the second option and to lick the remainder of the scrub as it is so yummy !

If you have a sweet tooth and like the taste of candy floss then the Bubblegum flavour is definitely the one for you. I also prefer the colour of this scrub as from my blog you can probably guess i love anything pink.
If you are a lush fan then you will most likely have used or seen the Snow Fairy product which only comes out at Christmas, Well the lip scrub smells exactly the same as that ! If your not sure what product Snow Fairy is the lip scrub smells deliciously sweet and a lot like candy floss and tastes exactly the same !

To buy this product you can visit your nearest lush store or click the link and visit Lush and order online.

Have you used any of the lip scrubs ? What flavour is your favourite ?

Topshop Lipstick & Lip-gloss

For the review on the Eye Shadow Trio please click the link - Topshop Eye shadow Trio

As i was looking through the makeup section in Topshop The Glaze lip-glosses and lipsticks stood out to me. I have been looking for a bright pink lipstick for a while as i am starting to run out of the one i currently wear. So i needed wanted to get the lipstick but the lip-gloss just appeared in my hand when i got to the tills to pay !

I decided to buy the lip-gloss in a shade called Bubblegum. I love all things bubblegum so i'm guessing this was just another sign that I should purchase the lip-gloss and I am so pleased that I did. The colour is a lovely subtle pink. I was a little worried the lip-gloss would be a little bland but it definitely has a lovely colour to it. The gloss is very shimmery as it has little flecks of glitter inside the gloss which makes it even more pretty and girly.

The product itself also stays on very well and is long lasting. I have been wearing it all day and have only had to top it up once.
The lip gloss is £7 which i feel is quite reasonable as it is such a lovely gloss.

Now on to the lipstick! I absolutely love this shade. Although it is very bright so maybe it's not to everyone's liking. The shade I decided to get is called Bombshell. If your anything like me when you buy a lipstick you cant wait to get home to try it on. As soon as i left the shop I put the lipstick on and I can happily say it lasted me for the rest of the shopping trip! (around 3 hours also had a drink and it didn't budge) The lipstick is a little patchy when  first applied but i found as i put more on and rubbed my lips together it soon smoothed out. This may also be because I need to wear it in a bit yet. The lipstick is a little expensive at £9 but i think the price is justified with how long lasting it is as you wont have to keep reapplying. The lipstick does have a slight shine to it as you can see in the picture but overall is more matte than shiny.

I applied the lip-gloss on top of the lipstick. This adds another great look! The lip-gloss tones the lipstick down giving it a more subtle look and a lovely deep pink shimmery effect. I would recommend buying a lip-gloss and a lipstick as you can have 3 great shades and also adds to the lasting power.

You can purchase both products at Topshop.

Have you tried any of the Topshop Lip-glosses or lipsticks ? I would love to hear your opinion
